Micki Hoesly
Micki Hoesly entered the financial services industry in 1977.  Along with her BS in Business Management, she has earned degrees as Chartered Life Underwriter, Chartered Financial Consultant and a Masters of Science in Financial Services with the American College.  Micki earned her Master of Urban Studies degree in 1999 and was a PhD candidate at Old Dominion University. 

In 1983, Micki began Capital Resources as sole proprietor, specializing in pensions.  She received her designation of QPA and CPC through the American Society of Pension Actuaries.  She is owner and principal of Resource 1, Inc., a Registered Investment Advisory firm offering dynamic asset allocation strategies.  Her dedication and continuing goal is to provide superior service and appropriate solutions for high net worth individuals, their families and select business entities.

Continuously active in industry associations, she has been a 31 year member of the Million Dollar Round Table and has recently been nominated to their Executive Committee; she will assume the role of President in 2013.  In 2009, Micki was Chair of the Top of the Table,  an independent organization of 1,000 leading financial services and insurance professionals worldwide.  

Micki has been quoted on financial issues by such major publications as the Wall Street Journal, the Financial Times and Kiplingers.  She is a respected speaker both nationally and internationally; at a recent forum she shared the platform with Alan Greenspan.

In 1985 she helped organize Make A Wish Foundation of Virginia and served as president of the founding board.  She received a Sertoma District Award for Outstanding Service to Mankind in the early 1990s. 

Micki and her husband, Michael, an Associate Vice President at another financial services company, live in Virginia Beach.

Matt Hoesly
Matt entered the financial services industry in 2004 after graduating with honors from St. Norbert College.  He earned his degree in Business Administration and a minor in Economics in 2004.   Relocating to Virginia to join Resource 1, Inc., Matt qualified for his first Million Dollar Round Table meeting in 2008 and was invited to speak at the 2010 International meeting held in Vancouver.

Matt earned his designation as a Certified Financial Planner, CFP® in 2008 and his Chartered Financial Consultant, ChFC in 2009.    Matt also recently completed his Master of Science in Financial Services degree from the American College.  His focus is on areas of personal financial advice, retirement planning and asset management; playing a vital role in corporate employee meetings and educational seminars.

Matt serves on the board of the local NAIFA chapter and is involved in their Young Advisor Team.   Additionally, he is active in the Heritage Group, a national study group of young financial professionals.

Matt continues his athletic pursuits in several local team sports and volunteers as an assistant track coach at Virginia Wesleyan College. 
Matt currently resides in Virginia Beach.

Martha Fowlkes began her career in the financial services industry as Agency Service Assistant in 1982 with The MONY Group.  Micki Hoesly, a top selling Field Underwriter at the firm, was establishing a new venture, Capital Resources, as sole proprietor.  In 1983, she asked Martha to join the firm as Office Manager. 

She continues to facilitate all aspects of office administration and secretarial support for Resource 1, Inc.

Martha has devoted time to several community endeavors and spent over 20 years with the local Make A Wish Foundation, acting as their first Executive Director and continuing in volunteer capacities.   She also worked with the Literacy Council of Tidewater teaching adults to read.  

Martha enjoys living in Norfolk, within walking distance of the office.
